Previous Public Exhibitions

Eurowind Energy Limited invited you to have your say at the following drop in sessions on the draft proposals for West Scales Energy Park. Thank you for all your feedback.

Kevin Lawlor, Development Manager (UK), Eurowind Energy Ltd, said:

“Eurowind are pleased to launch the first phase of public consultation for the proposed West Scales Energy Park. This is a significant project that brings together wind, solar, and battery technologies to deliver clean, reliable energy – enough to meet the needs of around 57,000 homes while offsetting more than 81,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

We’re committed to working closely with local communities from the very beginning, and we hope residents will take this opportunity to come along to our drop-in events, learn more about the proposals, and share their views. The feedback we receive will play an important role in shaping the development as it moves forward – including how the community benefit fund, estimated at £5,000 per installed megawatt of wind per year, intended to support local priorities.”

“We hope that all interested parties take this opportunity to share their feedback on these proposals and shape the project's future.”

The most recent exhibition materials are available to view in the projects document section of the site.

Benefits

A Community Benefit Fund is a voluntary financial contribution made by the developer to support local communities near renewable energy projects. It is a way of ensuring that the communities that host renewable energy infrastructure share in the benefits of the project. £5,000 per installed megawatt of wind, index linked, for the operational lifetime of the development. There will also be opportunities for local business within the supply chain.
